I am always struck by how often an author’s passions find themselves revealed in their work, mine included. Her love of art and in particular artists ala Edward Hopper is manifested in P.D. Halt’s suspense novel, When Death Imitates Art. Except for the mandatory intermissions forced upon me by the malady of men in their 70’s I had difficulty setting it aside. I found myself watching for clues that might point me in the direction of the perpetrator, but like all good mysteries Halt only teased me into thinking I may have the answer.
The authors description of the weather in Germany in mid-autumn and the effect it had on each of the scenes created a sense of doom as this reader feared for the heroine’s safety.
I can highly recommend this Halt’s novel and look forward to more of her work.
Thanks for sharing Roger! Death can be an interesting topic, but whether we are standing in front of art or deaths door, may you fully know the love that Jesus Christ had for you so that through faith in Him you may walk through that door into what's next for your eternal life. 1 John 5:13
