A Passage from Tatum’s Alibi

I was about half reclined in my large Lazy Boy recliner reading the latest issue of the Law Review and did not notice that Julie had walked into the living room. It was early in the morning, which was very unusual for her to be up so early. Suddenly she was standing in front of me wearing a silk robe that was loosely held together at the waist. When she bent over to kiss me, the robe fell open to expose her breasts. She reached down and slid her hand into my loose-fitting gym shorts to make sure that the fast-rising erection would be an indication of my desire for her. She then pushed the recliner into an up position and pulled me out of the chair as I reached inside the robe around her waist. Julie then took my hand and pulled me toward the bedroom.

Suddenly there was a loud noise from outside. It was trash pick-up day. It woke me to find the Law Review on the floor next to the recliner and an erection under my gym shorts. It was all a dream. Julie had died two years earlier from cancer. The reality made me aware of how much I missed her.
